About the Role
Playing a pivotal role in the ongoing success of our established organisation, you will be responsible for maintaining, implementing and managing health, safety and environmental systems to ensure compliance is maintained to a high standard. The successful candidate will be required to collaborate with all levels of the organisation to educate, recognise and manage WHS&E risk to ensure safe work practices are embedded and maintained. Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, you will:
Maintain compliance documentation with all relevant Health, Safety, Environment and Quality statutory regulations
Maintain and optimise the WHS management system in line with ISO45001
Organise Safety training and assist workers to ensure system improvements and corrective actions are implemented
Manage all facets of workers' compensation, including return to work plans in conjunction with line managers and management
Update, review and issue WH&S documentation in accordance with each project, including JSEA and SWMS
Complete WHS&E documentation for prequals and tenders, and upload details for specific online databases as required for projects
Undertake site audits to ensure compliance with WHS&E policies and procedures. This includes regular visits to construction sites and weekly time spent in the factory/workshop
Ensure the quality and timeliness of incident data and KPI reporting

About You
To thrive in our team environment, you should have solid knowledge and experience in a similar position. You must be a driven team player with great time management, in addition to:
Minimum Cert IV or equivalent in WH&S
Return to Work Coordination Certification and proven experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry
The ability to make critical decisions and experience in developing policies and procedures
Ability to collaborate and influence externally and internally
Highly organised and process driven, remaining calm under pressure so as to promptly solve problems within a busy environment with changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to work with and protect confidential information
Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate outcomes without confrontation
A passion for Safety and experience embedding safety culture in an organisation
Advanced computer skills, particularly with Excel and Word
