About the Role

As a valued member of our fabrication team, you’ll play an important part in producing high-quality steel components in line with job specifications. You’ll work to agreed timelines and quality standards while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
Key responsibilities will include:
Steel Fabrication & Welding
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Fabrication of components according to drawings provided and required specifications and/or standards
Produce assigned work during the allocated time whilst maintaining the highest level of quality
Perform high-quality welding on a variety of metals, including 304SS and 316SS, according to nominated procedures, ensuring precision and structural integrity
Operate welding equipment, such as MIG and TIG, to join metal components with precision and accuracy
Utilise hand and power tools to assist with the welding process
Maintenance & Repair
Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment safely
Conduct repairs and/or modifications on existing products, when required
Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
Conduct inspections on completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and adhere to project specifications and safety protocols
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns promptly
Maintain a clean and organised work area
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
As the successful applicant, you will possess:
Certificate 3 in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the fabrication of steel
Ability to read engineering drawings and work with hand-drawn sketches
Experience in self-managing work, including material estimates, direct communication with the project manager
Familiar with weld testing/certification protocols
Aptitude to adapt/utilise to save wastage through the use of available materials/components
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
A current forklift licence (desirable)
